The story of
Brian Poliner is an educator, public policy professional, speaker, and writer. Before entering the educational arena, he successfully ran an aviation company and acted as operations manager of an air freight company. He has written and spoken extensively on the subjects of leadership, management, public policy, and education. He has presented on these subjects at international conferences the world over. He annually led a group of students to Hungary, where they studied comparative politics. Poliner is driven to improve himself and help others around him, which has led him to continue his own education for many years and to help many of his students beyond the completion of their degrees.
A native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Brian Poliner attended Duquesne University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English. Shortly after college he married and had two children, a son and a daughter. For over twenty-five years, he was President of BRP Aviation, where he oversaw all areas of operation as a Master Certified Flight Instructor. From 1993 until 2012, he acted as Operations Manager of WNY Air Freight, working alongside the company’s president to improve all areas of its logistics and supply chain processes. After many years of management in the private sector, Poliner made the decision to return to school with the aim of entering the fields of education and public policy.
Brian Poliner taught on the subjects of leadership, public administration, management, and ethics, while an adjunct professor at Hilbert College. He went on to serve as Chair of the Graduate and On-line Masters of Public Administration, Health Administration, and Criminal Justice Programs, during which time he launched many institutional initiatives and created new course content. Poliner has also written copiously about the challenges within the educational realm. The most noteworthy of his works is his book, Challenges and Responsibilities in Sustainable Education: Global Responses to Critical Issues. He looks forward to continuing to make the world a better place while at the same time making himself a better person.
